My web design experience primarily came from templated site enhancement, maintenance and new site spin up. I started primarily working with HTML and CSS to improve site look and performance per customer request. From there, I started getting into a little JavaScript. While learning front end development, I was also working with WordPress to build sites for freelance work. My most recent work was on a templated WordPress site, that I customized to meet the company’s business goals and brand.
A lot of my experience has been on-the-job skill sets that I picked up along the way. I have never taken any formal web development or design classes, but I’m constantly trying to learn new skills and techniques to help me grow as a developer. I learn best via practical application and have been taking various development/design courses through SimpliLearn, TreeHouse, Codecademy, Udemy and any other resource I can use. I have been very fortunate to work with some very talented individuals that helped me as I grew. I believe in hard work and learning from mistakes.
While I've worked on over a hundred websites in my professional career, most of them were proprietary templates. Many of those sites have also changed since I last worked on them. What you see below are the few freelance sites I have worked on. There are also some template designs mixed in. Sites that are live, will have a link beneath the screenshot.
